International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is a Washington D.C. based organization that strives to strengthen the role of women in journalism worldwide. Founded in 1990 by a group of U.S. journalists the IWMF operates under the mission and idea that “the news media world-wide are not truly free and representative without the equal voice of women.” The website offers information for journalists on leadership opportunities, scholarship opportunities, and training it also offers profiles on women journalists and broadcasters as well as resources including statistics and studies, the IWMF news archive, feature article archive and links to other media websites and associations. This site is another good resource that provides first person point of views, information on general issues and hard numbers about women in the field of journalism.
